Programs that Community Investment Network are focusing on include current programming; and our signature programs Essentials for Diversity in Giving (EDG) Curriculum and #WeArePhilanthropists College Initiative.
EDG 10 Curriculum module is designed for philanthropic leaders and professionals who experience limited donor of color engagement and seek to build solid connections with donors of color. For more information on this curriculum contact us at info@thecommunity investment.org
The #WEAREPHILANTHROPISTS PROJECT (formerly known as the HBCU/Donors of Color Initiative) was launched in Spring 2016 with the intent of inspiring and equipping college students with resources to address challenges in their communities through collective philanthropy. The program leverages current CIN giving circle members to serve as presenters and personal examples of creative philanthropy for students. The Initiative is designed for students of color at all institutions of higher learning and uses classroom sessions, mentoring, and convenings to create a pipeline to the next generation of philanthropists. Please e-mail the Program Director, Joy Webb, to learn more about this Initiative.
CIN: College Leadership Series
Community Investment Network partnered with some of the best to share insight with students on philanthropy and leadership.
Sessions took place every Wednesday in April 2020. Philanthropic leadership, inclusive philanthropy, learning-centered practices, collective influence, and social justice and equity are topics that were discussed.
CIN: Leadership 2020 and Beyond
The Community Investment Network Leadership Summit held its leadership development experience for community philanthropists. The in-person event was changed to a virtual leadership development opportunity due to Covid-19 pandemic. The virtual training sessions were designed to increase the capacity of CIN members, provide leadership development, and strengthen giving circles.
